Mom: Nonah, do you know what will happen in - one, two, five, or what ever it was - days?
Noah: It's my birthday!
Mom: What do you want for your birthday?
Noah: Me go to doctor's!
Mom: No, what kind of present do you want?
Noah: The doctor's!
Mom: Don't you want some kind of toy, maybe a new truck?
Noah: No, me go to doctor's!
Mom: You don't want anything else? Maybe a cake?
Noah: A tractor cake!
Mom: What? Do you want chocolate or vanilla cake?
Noah: No, a tractor cake!
Yes, the boy wanted nothing more than a tractor cake. No matter how I tried to persuade him otherwise, there's was not a truck, tractor, or toy that he wanted - just a trip to the doctor's and a tractor cake. And because he is my three year old little Nonah, I did what I could to give him a tractor cake. Partly because his real present, a scooter, was ordered over the internet and STILL isn't here. He can't possibly understand it, but he'll tell you "My cooter is in the mail."
Noah enjoying the tractor cake we took to Grandma and PopPop's house to celebrate.
And Friday night, we celebrated with Aunt Jaci, Uncle Matt, and Baby (aka cousin, Jaxon). The John Deere look alikes were his favorite, but I think it was mostly because we let him eat a whole one and some candy pumpkins.
It's hard to believe that three years ago we were watching the news coverage about the storms Katrina and Rita. With Noah's birthday we always find ourselves reminising about the flood and events surrounding his birth, and the fact that he was going to be named Luke. Now, I can't imagine calling him anything but Nonah. We love our Noah Alexander and thank God that he is part of our family.
